In 1957, the MZMA created an experimental minibus A9 using components from different models of Moskvich and GAZ‑21.

The car was actually assembled by hand. It featured a steel monocoque body, independent suspension, sliding glass in the front doors, four-speed transmission (experimental development).

Model A9 can hold up to nine passengers and could carry up to 350 kg of cargo. The vehicle successfully passed the test, then suddenly it became clear that there is no need for taxis is too small for the village — not a competitor to “loaf.”
