Morgan released the last retrokar with the BMW engine

The final edition model Plus 8 will appear in the quantity of 50 pieces and will be timed to the 50th anniversary of the legend

Following the teaser images which appeared last month, Morgan has declassified information about the jubilee series models Plus 8. The legendary model will be located near the most extreme model of the brand Aero GT on the stand of the Geneva motor show.

After 50 years on the market bought more than 6 thousand new owners. And now the model moves to a new engine, paying tribute to the old Bavarian unit, release an anniversary version in the amount of only 50 pieces.

Under the hood the Morgan Plus 8 is a 4.8-liter V8 engine with atmospheric-wheel drive BMW. Lightweight aluminum chassis weighs just 1 100 kg, and the car is considered to be one of the lightest in the segment. Unique design and powerful engine allows the Roadster to accelerate to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds and to go up to 250 km/h.

The original Plus 8 was launched in 1968, during the motor show, Earls Court. This model was discontinued in 2004 when the Rover V8 engine used in the first generation, ceased to exist. But the car returned to the Assembly line in 2012 with a new unit and BMW’s new lightweight chassis.

Built around a lightweight aluminum chassis, Plus 8 50th Anniversary Edition weighs just 1,100 kilograms (2,425 pounds) and “is one of the lightest V8 passenger car in the world.” Thanks to its smart design and powerful V8 under the hood, the Roadster is capable of 0 to 62 mph (100 kph) in 4.5 seconds and a top speed of 155 mph (250 km / h).
