Nissan will leave Europe without diesels

Twhich the decision is due to falling demand in Europe for cars with engines of “heavy fuel”. Buyers refuse them due to fear of the imposition of high taxes, as well as the upcoming ban on operation of diesel engines in the big cities.

The specific date of the end of sales has not yet been determined: Nissan will clean up diesel engines as of model range renewal, replacing them with hybrid and fully electric propulsion systems.

“At the moment, modern diesel engines remain popular for many customers. We do not expect a sudden cessation of demand in the short term, — has explained a press-the Secretary of the Nissan. — However, the electrification will allow us to gradually remove diesel engines from cars as the update model”.

In 2017 the demand for diesel engines in Europe fell by 7.9% (to 6.77 million cars). Thus, the share of machinery on heavy fuel was reduced to 43.8%. And, no doubt, will fall further.
