Rio X-Line, Creta and Sandero Stepway City: test drive in numbers

Experts rulem tested the car and based on tests and data producers prepared a detailed technical reference that complements the driving experience.Alexander Vinogradov “Behind the wheel”

Comparison test, we wanted to find out which of the three front wheel drive cars with the same suspension, engine 1.6 automatic transmission and capable off-road and practical, read this link. Below — the data producers, measuring “at the wheel”, service numbers, settings, accessibility, and other important technical information.

EXPERT EVALUATION OF VEHICLES

Scores are given collectively by a group of experts ZR. Evaluation is not absolute, it shows the location of the machine in this test with specific opponents. Maximum score — 10 points (ideal). 8 points is the norm for machines in this class.

The driver

Seat Cretu and Rio are similar, but Crete is slightly better contoured pillow. Chair Sandero noticeably softer, it lacks lateral support and range of height adjustment. Handlebars “Koreans” are equally convenient and are moved in two directions. Renault steering wheel is adjustable only for tilt, and devices overloaded. In Kia outside mirrors are small, rear window is blocked by headrests. Mirror in Crete and Sandero more, browse through the salon mirror better. For similar money Hyundai has a rear view camera. No its in Renault.

Salon

In Rio and Crete has enough compartments for small items. In Sandero no sites for the mobile or Central Boxing has saved money. Leg room for rear passengers in the Renault too little. The Kia slightly more, but fit better. Hyundai in — space and trunk maximum volume, besides the practical. Rio have a high threshold and a smaller amount. Stepway — an outsider. A high threshold was not covered with plastic.

Ride quality

Reaction X-line on the steering accurate, and body roll is slightly more than the “low” machines. On the straight it is stable. Hyundai earlier loses its balance. Renault breaks down early in the demolition, the steering is linear. Good dynamics, not spoils the variator. Creta him a bit, but still lags behind in acceleration. Brake “Koreans” encouraging efficiency. The Kia braking harsh in the initial phase: the drive is set up perfectly. The deceleration performance of the Renault a little worse.

Comfort

All — single-zone automatic climate control. In Rio there is a heated steering wheel, windshield and rear seat. From Crete the steering wheel is also heated, and the other heater available in the more expensive versions. In Sandero heated steering wheel and rear seats is not, in principle, block microclimate with light the most uncomfortable. Creta has no pronounced source of noise. In Rio solo road noise, Stevie is dominated by aerodynamics. Renault the best on the ride. “Koreans” harder: X-Line collect on the waves, but he pays for it with a higher hardness on the little stuff.

Adaptability to Russia

The biggest ground clearance in the X-line, but it is only under the oil pan. In the presence of a protection clearance all machines are the same. The same applies to angles of entry and exit. All cars — full spare wheel. The network of official Renault one-HUNDRED-branched, and “Koreans” even wider. Kia and Hyundai offer more favorable warranty terms.

The behavior of off-road

The possibility of front wheel drive cars are very limited. Every you can turn off traction control. All cars are easy to post — stroke low. CVT Renault does not like a long slip, and get reverse out of the trap problematic — the engine speed limiting electronics. Assistant descent from the mountain is only at Crete.

HYUNDAI CRETA

Spacious back row roomy on the background of rivals trunk; good chassis balance
Nevadalas dynamics; poor equipment against high prices, boring design

KIA RIO X-LINE

Good handling; good equipment at a reasonable price; detailed ergonomics
Harsh on road detail pendant; close the rear row

RENAULT SANDERO STEPWAY

Good dynamics; energy-intensive suspension; nice price
