The new car market in August 2019 fell again. This time by 1.3%, or 1843 of the machine, compared to August, calculated by the AEB. In just the past month, Russia had bought 145 545 new cars and light commercial vehicles. Thus, we can say that the decline has slowed down a bit.
At the end of the sales for the first 8 months of 2019, the market decline was 2.3%. That is, from January to August in Russia was sold for 25 798 cars less than a year earlier — a total of 1 114 263 of the machine.
“In August there were no significant changes in the situation on the market, as sales remained below the good level achieved a year earlier,” — commented Chairman of the AEB automobile manufacturers Committee Joerg Schreiber.
The most popular Lada cars. In August they had sold 30 019 pieces, which is 5% higher than a year earlier. All in all since the beginning of the year AVTOVAZ sold 233 684 machines, achieving 3 percent growth.
Meanwhile, Kia began to take positions. The cars of this brand are still in second place in popularity, but their sales fell by 2% (implemented 18 531 car), bringing growth in the first eight months to zero. Since the beginning of the year, Kia sold we have 148 947 cars.
In third place are cars that last month and for the year it sold almost the same as last year — 14 062 115 and 937 respectively.
The five most popular brands also entered Renault and Toyota, but with the difference that on cars of the French brand demand in August grew by 12% and Japanese cars, by contrast, fell by 6%. At the end of the eight months of sales this year, both the automaker remained in the red by 4% and 2%.
Well August ended for Skoda (+4%), Gas (+6%), BMW (+17%) and Mercedes—Benz (+10%). Sales of these machines, in addition to Gas, grew over 8 months of 2019. The last month of summer was very successful for sellers of Ford cars (+26%), Haval (+458%), Geely (+134%), Porsche (+30%), Citroen (+129%), FAW (+43%), Fiat (+469%), smart (+66%) and some other brands.
Disastrous August sales may call the Nissan dealership (-16%), Chevrolet (29 per cent), Land Rover (-27%), Volvo (-26%), Infiniti (-31%), Lifan (-79%), Honda (-64%), Genesis (-30%), Jeep (-22%), Jaguar (-42%), and many others. Some brands demand for cars in August fell on an annual sales growth in the first eight months they are still in the black, but if things are to go, the year they risk to finish in the red.
