Swedish supercar manufacturer Koenigsegg has set a new record speed of 447 miles per hour. Coupe Agera RS have reached this mark on a highway near the American village Pahrump in Nevada, which at the time of the race was blocked by the police.As expected for fixing the world record, the car made two runs in opposite directions. The first time the hypercar clocked up 437 miles per hour, and the second – to 457 kilometers per hour. The average is 447 kilometers per hour, and was recorded as a new world record for a road production cars.
For the record, you used the version of the hypercar with the optional package increase power, which increases the impact of a 5.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine up to 1360 HP and 1371 Nm of torque. Behind the wheel of the car was a test driver of Koenigsegg company Niklas Lilja.
On the same day, the Koenigsegg Agera RS has improved its record speed record acceleration from zero to 400 kilometers per hour and the subsequent complete stop. In early October hypercar has done this exercise 36,44 seconds (almost 5.5 seconds faster than the Bugatti Chiron), now 33,29 seconds.
Prior to that, the speed records among road cars belonged to Hennessey Venom GT (435,31 km / h, however, the check was conducted only in one direction) and the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport (431,07 kilometers per hour).
