The Association of European businesses has published data on sales of new cars and light commercial vehicles in 2017. Compared to last year, the Russian market grew by 11.9%, dealers have implemented 1 595 737 machines.
The statistics of AEB cannot be called comprehensive, because it, firstly, there are some luxury brands such as Bentley, Rolls-Royce, Ferrari, Lamborghini, etc., and second, it relies on the data provided by the automakers, which are difficult to verify. And yet it is the most complete information about the market of those that are in the public domain. A General idea of trends and prospects it is quite possible to make.
The most popular car brand in 2017 is expected to become the domestic Lada, its sales grew faster than the market and for the year increased by 17% — sold 311 588 machines.
In second place with a large margin to be the Korean Kia: sold 181 947 cars, 22% more than in 2016. the Third place — from Hyundai: sold 157 858 units (+9%). In fourth place is the French brand Renault: sold 136 682 car (+17%).
In the fifth place Toyota — the Japanese brand is the only one of the top ten are unable to increase their sales in 2017: sold 94 238 cars against 94 568 in 2016.

Of the same brands that are available in the market constantly, the Cup’s progress has earned the Japanese Mitsubishi; the growth was 45%, sold 24 325 SUVs and crossovers.
The greatest fall recorded at SsangYong (-89%), to talk about the full return of the Korean brand in Russia that is not necessary.
