Infiniti revealed the crossover QX50 new generation public debut will take place at the motor show in Los Angeles. The model is equipped with the world’s first turbocharged engine with variable compression ratio and advanced system of semi-Autonomous driving Assist ProPilot.Infiniti QX50 is built on a new platform with front engine front wheel drive layout. The body of the crossover made of high strength steel, to reduce mass and increase rigidity of the body torsion by 23 percent compared to the previous machine generation.
Length of new items is 4693 mm (-52 mm), width — 1903 (+ 103миллиметра) wheelbase — 2800 mm (to 80 mm). Ground clearance has 218 millimeters. Trunk volume QX50 — 895 litres and with the rear seats folded — 1699 liters.
Unit QX50 — production version of the engine, which can change the compression ratio in the range from 8:1 to 14:1 depending on the nature of the movement. The return 2.0-liter “four” is 272 horsepower and 380 Nm of torque. The engine is combined with continuously variable transmission CVT.
The front-wheel modification crossover, equipped with this engine, 35 per cent more economical than cars with a V-shaped “six”. For AWD cars, the figure is 30 percent. It is expected that the QX50 consumption in the combined cycle will be between 8.7 and 9 liters per 100 kilometers.
From zero to 96 kilometers per hour wheel-drive modification of the crossover is able to accelerate in 6.3 seconds, front-wheel — 6.7 seconds. The maximum speed is 230 kilometers per hour.
ProPilot system can control the steering, accelerator and brakes, as well as yourself to keep the vehicle within a single lane. It can operate in dense city traffic and on highways.
