We have selected the most popular in 2019, the year of the problems, analyzed them and here is what I found out.Konstantin Vasilyev
Once a week we publish a task on the knowledge of traffic Rules — proposed typical road situation and several possible answers, including the only true. The results are shocking: the majority of readers it wrong. What are the sections of the SDA are given to us the hardest?
1. We are afraid to overtake
Many of our readers wrong when it comes to overtaking.
Overtaking, as you know, is associated with departure on an oncoming lane and overtaking violation of the rules imposes very severe punishment with deprivation of the driving license. So the error when overtaking can be very expensive. That’s probably why most motorists prefer not to risk, but rather to play it safe and give up overtaking, even when it is not prohibited.
Here are just a couple typical examples from the voting results, where the correct answer is circled in green.
At the crossroads because there is no separation: it means that you are passing?
|In this task, we proposed three possible answers and only a quarter of the readers have chosen the right. In this task, we proposed three possible answers and only a quarter of the readers have chosen the right.|
Of course, many experienced drivers are not going to overtake in such conditions, guided primarily by security considerations. But it is not the question. It is important for us to understand the intentions of the SDA such a maneuver. And what do we see: it turns out that many readers confuse concepts such as regulated and unregulated intersection.
Running lights adjustable means intersection. But if there are no traffic lights or it doesn’t work, that is, it is flashing yellow signal (as in our tasks), then the intersection is considered unregulated. Hence, the mass error response.
Another example is overtaking a slow mover. And again, most readers got it wrong.
Overtaking the slug on an opposite
About a third of the readers decided that the overtaking in such conditions is prohibited. Others will think otherwise. But only 17.9% know why overtake.About a third of the readers decided that the overtaking in such conditions is prohibited. Others will think otherwise. But only 17.9% know why overtake.
What is more important: the markup to allow overtaking, or sign prohibiting such a manoeuvre? In this case, it doesn’t matter, because the prohibition on overtaking starts to act only after 1 km away. this leads to the following conclusion…
2. We forgot plates
Let’s be honest: do you pay attention to these little white tablets? I guess not always. Many readers did not pay attention to the clue’s in the title of the task. In the end, was wrong.
Find the offender in the diagram: a simple test trick
Slightly more than 25% chose the correct answer. A depressing result.Slightly more than 25% chose the correct answer. A depressing result.
A large part of the respondents believes that the action takes place on the motorway. As you know, it’s not, after all, the information panel reports that the highway will begin only after 1000 m.
However, the biggest problem associated with the circular intersections.
3. We are really confused with the circular intersections
This result is logical. For a long time we tried to confuse numerous amendments to the SDA. In the end everything turned out.
For any path you can go.
At this time, only 3.8% for a correct answer. Kind of a record! At this time, only 3.8% for a correct answer. Kind of a record!
The problem is the notorious sign 4.3 “Circular motion”, which is not on that chart. This means that there is not a circular, but an ordinary intersection. And to pass it you need respectively want to turn right — deign to advance to take the right lane. Want to go left (and to us nothing prevents to do it) — please. The main thing is not to be on the opposite side of the road and give way to traffic moving along the main.
A paradoxical situation, but those are the Rules. I will say that such junctions in my life to meet? And here and there. We regularly send photos of similar junctions where the movement is organized in a circle, but the sign of 4.3 at this.
Of course, all this does not mean that it is possible (although technically possible) to go “against the grain” in this “circle”, shocking the other traffic participants. I really hope that the survival instinct will not allow it.
You just figured out the puzzle? Let’s hook up…
Rambling round: this test on traffic rules most make a mistake!
28% for a correct answer. This is one of the best results, but this is not enough for safe driving on our roads.28% for a correct answer. This is one of the best results, but this is not enough for safe driving on our roads.
The title proved prophetic. We do not doubt that the correct answer will choose not many. It just happened. Why?
It seems to be obvious: the sign of 4.3 a, so the turn is prohibited. And the only true path — B… and here and there. In this case, both trajectories are banned. All because of the same sign. The fact that the rules of travel roundabouts have a number of features. In particular: to travel on a circular road with any band, but to leave the circle can be entirely of right-hand lane. However, this drew the attention of 28% of the readers. It is not bad.
Pay attention to the number of voters in each task. The account goes on tens of thousands. This is a significant slice of the driving community. That is, on those tasks thought to existing and potential drivers. This is a little scary to get behind the wheel, knowing the statistics, isn’t it?
Fortunately, not all traffic violations lead to accidents. However, to pull the theory is necessary. “Behind the wheel” to help you.
Good luck on the road!
