Automatic transmission on Chaika GAZ‑13 was ruled by four buttons: N, D, T and SX. The appointment of three of them is easy to guess: N — neutral, D — movement, SX — reverse. But the symbol T meant… engine braking!
The manual States that forward button is used D, with the exception of those cases where a long descent. When you select this mode at speeds above 40 km/h were forcibly engaged second gear and when the speed drops below 36 km/h in the first place.
